Finnish Jazz acts head to New York in January

The audiences in New York will be treated to some sizzling hot jazz right in the middle of the cold winter, when the New Cut! project brings Finnish jazz to the city in January 2014. New Cut! Jazz From Finland events will feature performances by Rakka, Black Motor and Mikko Innanen with Andrew Cyrille.

The two nights will surely cater for a wide range of styles, with the instrumental quintet Rakka digging deep into influences from blues and gospel to Finnish folk music, and Black Motor serving a mix of improvised free jazz with a punk attitude, while Mikko Innanen will showcase his latest innovations in the world of jazz saxophone.
