Niko Kangas is Music Finland’s new Export Manager for pop and rock

Niko Kangas has been appointed as Music Finland’s new Export Manager within pop and rock music. Niko is a prominent figure in Finnish rock scene after his long career at Fullsteam, where he has worked since 2004, with acts like Disco Ensemble, Ismo Alanko, Lapko as well as his own band Damn Seagulls. At Fullsteam, his work included the duties of record label A&R and manager at Fullsteam Management.

As Music Finland's export manager, Niko's responsibilities include planning and implementing export services, arranging international professional visits and showcase events as well as creating and maintaining international networks, along with his colleague, Export Manager Katariina Sorsa. Niko will begin at Music Finland in February 2017.

"I’m honored to have grown with Fullsteam for the past 12 years, and I’m very grateful for them, as well as proud of everything that I’ve done and experienced during this time. Fullsteam has been my long course in music business – and even a bit more. With somewhat melancholic, but cheerful feelings I move forward to Music Finland. Export, and specifically music export has always been particularly close to my heart, so I'm excited to take this task and all its challenges!", Niko says.
