Sebastian Fagerlund’s busy festival season begins

Sebastian Fagerlund will be this year’s theme composer for Furstensaal Classix Festival in Kempten, Germany 20.9–27.9.2015. The festival program will include a repertory of Fagerlund’s chamber music, out of which many compositions have never been performed in Germany before. One Fagerlund world premiere will be also performed in Kempten.

Some of the festival’s concerts will be broadcasted in German radio. The entire festival program will be published at www.fuerstensaalclassix.de

This summer, Sebastian Fagerlund is also busy with West Cork Chamber Music Festival, which will be held in Ireland 26.6.–4.7.2015. Fagerlund has been sitting in this year’s jury, choosing the finalists for the Young Composers’ composition contest and also guiding the chosen composers in their work, which will be premiered at the festival. The festival’s theme for the year will be string quartets.

Sebastian Fagerlund’s new composition Stonework will be premiered in three countries in November and December. The first rendition of Stonework will be on 25.–26.11.2015 in Bergen, Norway. It is performed by Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by Edvard Gardner.

Other performances are Gothenburg, Sweden (by Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, conductor Edvard Gardner and guest performance by Sebastian Fagerlund) and Tampere, Finland on 27.11.2015 (by Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, condutor Santtu-Matias Rouvali) and 6.–9.12.2015 in Helsinki, Finland (by Finnish RSO, conductor Hannu Lintu).
