Grammy 2017 nominees include Nico Hartikainen, Johanna Rusanen, Esa-Pekka Salonen and John Storgårds
The Grammy nominees for 2017 have been announced.
Conductor John Storgårds, violinist Christian Tetzlaff and Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra were nominated for the violin concertos of Dvořák and Suk in the "Best classical instrumental solo" category.
One of the nominees for Best Choral Performance is Penderecki Conducts Penderecki, Volume 1 recording, on which soprano Johanna Rusanen is one of the soloists.
Esa-Pekka Salonen conducted the recording Zappa: 200 Motels – The Suites, which concentrates on the works of Frank Zappa. The album was nominated for ”Best Classical Compendium”.
In the "Album of the Year" category, Nico Hartikainen is nominated as one of the producers on Justin Bieber's Purpose album. Hartikainen worked on Bieber's album track Children.
The Recording Academy will present the 59th GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 12, 2017, live from Staples Center in Los Angeles, broadcast on CBS.
