Joel Järventausta’s Sunfall commissioned by LSO premiered this week

London Symphony Orchestra will premiere a new commissioned work by contemporary composer Joel Järventausta this week at the Barbican Centre. The work will also be performed in Germany and Denmark.

London Symphony Orchestra will premiere Finnish composer Joel Järventausta’s commissioned orchestral work 'Sunfall' at the Barbican Centre on Sunday, April 3rd. The 15 minute work, described as “solar-powered new showpiece” will be conducted by François-Xavier Roth.

After the Barbican Centre premiere, London Symphony Orchestra will perform 'Sunfall' twice in Germany, at Konzerthaus Dortmund on April 4th and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg on April 5th, as well as in Musikkens Hus in Aalborg, Denmark on April 6th.

Joel Järventausta's (b. 1995) music is often influenced by nature, books, paintings, art and poems.
