In March, Music Finland will organize Finnish Music Tech Meetup, a new event discussing about future cooperation models between music startups and music industry stakeholders. The event takes place on Wednesday 2nd March 2022 17:00-19:00 at Music Finland's office in Espoo.
As a part of Music Finland's strategy, we are exploring new collaboration opportunities with music tech startups to support the growth Finnish music sector and music export. The evolution of technology provides more and more opportunities for music professionals to produce, distribute, market, build new audiences, license, and monetize content on a global scale.
In order to develop growth opportunities provided by the digital landscape, it is crucial to keep up with fast-paced technological trends. At the same time, the continuous need to build competences both within the traditional music industry and in companies developing services for the music industry requires time and effort. International success and efficient export operations require a rich and vibrant domestic ecosystem, which also includes technology and other growth companies involved in the music business. Collaboration plays a key role here.
We believe that through dialogue and active cooperation, we will achieve more. What kind of models for export and business development collaboration could be created between music industry companies and music tech startups? How can the success of music tech and services boost music export? What kind of role should Music Finland play in all of this? Should Finnish music startups have a representative body? What can we learn from attempts to build music and tech hubs and ecosystems in other countries? What types of new financing models could cross-sector cooperation open up to music export activities?
You are warmly welcome to Music Finland (Musiikin Satama, Keilasatama 2 A, Espoo) on Wednesday March 2nd to network and ideate new collaboration models and meet friends. We will publish a more detailed program of the event in the coming weeks.
