Niko Nordström appointed President of Warner Music Australasia

Niko Nordström has been appointed President of Warner Music Australasia. Nordström will take on his new role after serving as Vice President, Warner Music Nordics and Managing Director of Warner Music Finland.

CEO of International and Global Commercial Services, Stu Bergen commented: "For the past decade, Niko has led Warner Music Finland, where he has nurtured local artists and broken international stars, while doubling our market share in one of the world's most advanced subscription markets.”

Niko Nordström has served as Managing Director of Warner Music Finland since 2007. During his tenure, the company’s market share doubled. In 2016, Warner Music Finland had the No. 1 album for 24 weeks of the year, the No. 1 single for 23 weeks of the year, and enjoyed an average weekly airplay share of 42%.

Warner Music Finland’s success has been well recognized, with its artists collecting more than half of the all the Emma Awards (Finland’s equivalent of the Grammys) over the past two years, and the company being named Major Label of the Year for eight years in a row at the Music & Media Industry Awards.

Nordström will be based Warner Music Australia’s Sydney office and will take up his role following the completion of normal immigration procedures.
