Riku Salomaa has been appointed Music Finland’s Head of International. Salomaa has worked as project manager in Music Finland since the organization was founded in 2012. He started his career in music export in 2009 in Music Export Finland, the organization that preceeded Music Finland.

"I’m excited to take this position and motivated to step on an even more responsible role at Music Finland! We are a customer-oriented organization and tailor our services to meet our customers’ needs, as well as the quickly changing field of music. These are big shoes to fill, but I will accept the challenge," comments Salomaa about his new role.

Salomaa's predecessor as Head of International, Sami Häikiö (who won the Industry Leader of the Year award in Music & Media Industry Awards 2015) will pursue new challenges after a nine year streak in Music Finland and Music Export Finland.

"Sami Häikiö has made an amazing career in music in exports, for which we thank him greatly – as well as the entire Finnish music field I’m sure. Riku is a natural choice for Sami’s successor, because he has an excellent knowledge of our customers and international music business. Riku has great prospects to bring our team to even better accomplishments," says Music Finland’s Executive Director Tuomo Tähtinen.
