This year, the songwriting experience Song Castle, organised by Music Finland, goes online uniting the songwriting industries in Finland, Nordics and other European markets to the U.S. and Latin American markets.

Song Castle, Music Finland's longest running co-write camp is also one of the most respected songwriting camps in the whole Nordic. Last year, when the pandemic hit, Music Finland had to rethink everything about their songwriting camps – Song Castle, Song Hotel and A-pop Castle – but everything worked out and the results were encouraging. This year, our first foray into the realm of hybrid camps will be Song Castle Online, organised in June.

Song Castle Online is a virtual edition of the traditional songwriting camp Song Castle arranged in Finland since 2007. In addition to the songwriting camp, Song Castle Online will host a series of Industry Talks, in the topics of song pitching, songwriter development, trends in songwriting and new markets.

Song Castle songwriting camp

Since 2007 Song Castle has had an influential role in boosting the local co-writing culture and developing Finnish songwriters to create international success stories. The resulting songs have hit the charts in the United States, Australia, South Korea, Japan, France, Sweden and Germany.

Song Castle has hosted and helped build the careers of top Finnish songwriters and producers like Teemu Brunila (credits including Kylie Minogue, Jason Derulo, JP Cooper) and JS16 (Darude's “Sandstorm”) and in the recent years ALMA (Miley Curys, Ariana Grande), Axel Ehnström (Lost Frequencies, Alle Farben), Jonas W. Karlsson (John Legend, Jhené Aiko), Tiina Vainikainen (KSI), Minna Koivisto, Tido, Hank Solo etc.

In the past few editions Song Castle has hosted artists like FLETCHER, Phoebe Ryan, Raja Kumari, and songwriters like Amy Allen (Selena Gomez, Halsey), Nova Wav (Beyoncé, Ariana Grande), Marty James (Justin Bieber, Enrique Iglesias), Melanie Fontana (BTS) and many, many more.

Song Castle Online

Song Castle Online 2021 will be a legacy edition, where including making new connections, the camp aims to gather some of the amazing songwriters and artists that have visited Music Finland’s camps in the past and present them the top Finnish pop industry of 2021.

In 2021, Song Castle online will bring together the best 20+ Finnish songwriting talents and artists with 15+ selected guest artists and songwriters in online sessions.

In addition, the Industry Talks series will invite about 15 professionals and introduce about 10 Finnish publishers and managers.
