The President Toomas Hendrik Ilves awarded Tapio Korjus
The President Toomas Hendrik Ilves gave high-level decorations of the Republic of Estonia to a number of politicians, cultural figures and supporters of society of Finland.
Orders of the Cross of Terra Mariana was awarded to sole owner and CEO of Rockadillo Recordings & Production, Tapio Korjus, who has supported indie music in Estonia for about a quarter of century and established international contacts for Estonian performers and producers. In addition the decoration was given to playwright Juha Vakkuri, translator Sanna Innanen and other cultural figures who has been supporting the Estonian culture.
Tapio Korjus has been in the center of Finnish music industry since the 70’s. His own company Rockadillo was established in 1971. Korjus has been working with a variety of Finnish artists, such as Värttinä, Anssi Tikanmäki, Iiro Rantala, Jarmo Saari, Wimme and RinneRadio. He is also a board member in various organizations including Music Finland, IFPI, Music & Media, Impala, IndieCo and The Finnish Music Publishers Association.
