The Showcase Must Go On: Watch Alma, Yotto and Antti Paalanen play SXSW Online
Music Finland’s and Genelec’s 30-minute digital showcase from this year’s SXSW Online took place on March 19, with performers ALMA, Yotto and Antti Paalanen. With stunning visuals combining virtual reality technologies and on-location footage, “The Showcase Must Go On” was truly an innovative showcase concept. The unique performances are now publicly available for streaming!
The multi-artistic production “The Showcase Must Go On” was conceptualized and directed by internationally renowned creative director Jesse Auersalo, merging on-location footage with spaces created with VR technology and otherworldly special effects. The showcase was designed to be a new type of concept in the music export field – neither a music video nor a substitute for a live performance, but a production that adds value to the music. The artists performing are top-tier talents within Finland’s musical landscape today: “the wild child of accordion” Antti Paalanen, the master of epic and melodic deep house Yotto, and the flame-haired pop phenomenon and go-to-hitmaker ALMA.
