Timo Lassy’s latest album Love Bullet, released in May by Membran’s sub-label Must Have Jazz, was chosen among the year’s best jazz albums by prominent British media The Sunday Times. Earlier this year Lassy and his band made their debut performances in the UK with shows at Brecon Jazz Festival and in London. Love Bullet , which was called a ” splendid, noteworthy and deeply enjoyable album ” by London Jazz Review, has also received radio play in Germany and France, as well as an inclusion on Downbeat’s Rising Star category earlier this year.
Meanwhile jazz quartet Liberty Ship’s second album Wide Open Suite & Noises At Sea was chosen among the best albums of 2015 with an honorable mention by the renowned New York City Jazz Record magazine. This marks the second time the magazine has noted the quartet, as Liberty Ship’s debut album Approaching was selected as one of the best new releases in 2013. Both albums have been released by Finnish label Eclipse Music.
