Tuomo Tähtinen is chosen Organizational Leader of the Year 2016
Music Finland’s Executive Director Tuomo Tähtinen was awarded the prize for ”Organizational Leader of the Year” at Music & Media Industry Awards last Saturday in Tampere. Tähtinen has been working at this position since 2012.
”I am very grateful and happy for this award! The fact that non-profit organizations get recognition from the industry is extremely important, because the work we do is often in the background and not always very visible. All of us at Music Finland are working hard to develop our operations in order to be as effective as possible in helping the Finnish music industry achieve more international success”, states Tuomo Tähtinen.
This is Tähtinen’s second award for Organizational Leader of the Year – he was also awarded in 2013. This is also the second time in row that Organizational Leader of the Year prize goes to the Music Finland offices: in 2015 the prize for was awarded to Sami Häikiö, Music Finland’s Head of International at the time.
The grounds for the award were following: ”The recipient has an open and receptive attitude to develop and promote the Finnish music industry – regardless of genre. He is living proof of toil, and he remains characteristically calm even in difficult situations.
This year Music & Media awarded distinguished Finnish music professionals in 23 different categories. Other this year’s winners include Phillip Page, who was presented with a lifetime achievement award, and Onta Shiroh Kawaguchi, who was given the Tampere Music Award 2016.
