VV's world tour receives grande finale at Royal Albert Hall
VV, better known as Ville Valo, the former singer and frontman of HIM, is wrapping up his massive world tour this week in a grandiose way. The gothic rocker will play the last show of his 154 date tour this Friday, May 10th, in London's renowned Royal Albert Hall.
By any measure, VV's "Neon Noir Tour", promoting his debut solo album Neon Noir, has been an impressive one. The tour, spanning four continents and containing more than 150 shows, will be completed on May 10, 2024, when the former HIM frontman will take the stage at London's famous Royal Albert Hall – the first Finnish rock band to do so.
The band started from Europe in January 2023 and moved on to the USA, South America and Australia, with several pit stops in Europe in between. On the US leg of the tour, the billing was split with Black Veil Brides.
The Neon Noir album was composed, written, played, sung, produced and recorded by Ville Valo himself, with mixing by Tim Palmer (U2, Robert Plant, Ozzy Osbourne, Pearl Jam, HIM, The Cure). His touring band, however, consists of Finnish musicians Risto Rikala (drums), Sampo Sundström (guitar), Juho Vehmanen (bass) and Mikko Virta (guitar).
"The road established by HIM has been good for me to walk, sliding off the side tracks a bit, and the Royal Albert Hall serves as a fantastic end point for the first stage of VV's earthly ascent," Ville Valo sums up his current score.
