WOMEX brings the global music scene to Finland in 2025

Finland's Tampere will once again host the WOMEX Worldwide Music Expo on October 22-26, 2025. The last time Tampere hosted WOMEX was in 2019.

WOMEX Worldwide Music Expo, the world's most international and culturally diverse music trade fair and showcase festival, returns to Finland in October 2025. This year’s event takes place in Manchester, and from there, WOMEX returns to Tampere, just six years after its previous visit to Finland.

Every year, WOMEX brings together more than 2,500 professionals from 90 countries. International music sellers and buyers meet at the fair, and WOMEX also offers a conference program, discussions, DJ nights, and music films. The central element is the showcase festival, during which dozens of top artists from different countries around the world will perform on seven stages.

WOMEX's daily program will take place in Tampere Hall, where the trade fair and seminars take place and films are shown. In the evenings, two halls at Tampere Hall will serve as concert stages. Other showcase venues are Tavara-asema, Olympia, and Hotel Torni. Arthouse Cinema Niagara presents audience screenings from WOMEX's film program. WOMEX is characterized by a wide range of music, and in addition to different countries' own musical styles and contemporary folk music, it attracts professionals from jazz, electronic music and art music, among others.

"Finnish folk music has a strong brand worldwide, known for its high artistic level and originality. Coming to Finland for the second time, WOMEX offers musicians and other industry professionals a unique opportunity to present their music and make international contacts. Finnish contemporary folk music is at the core of our music export," says Mikko Manninen, executive director of Music Finland. The music export organization Music Finland will take care of the visibility and services for the Finnish folk music scene and domestic export companies at the event.

WOMEX Worldwide Music Expo is organized by the German music company Piranha Arts AG. The domestic main organizer of the event is Tampere-based company Rockadillo Production Oy, and the strategic partner is Music Finland. Other partners of the event are the Ministry of Education and Culture, the City of Tampere, Visit Tampere, and Tampere Hall.
