Nummirock is a midsummer festival focused on heavy rock, organized since 1987 on the lakeside of Nummijärvi village in the Kauhajoki municipality. Previously known as a general rock festival, after 2002 it started to focus on heavy metal. Nummirock later grew to a three-day event, and since the 30th anniversary, it has been a four-day event. Some of the most legendary bands that have played the festival have been, among others, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Ramones, Scorpions, Cheap Trick, Motörhead, Slayer, Danzig, Morbid Angel and Scooter.
