Sauna Open Air Metal Festival is a metal music festival organized in the center of Tampere. It was organized for the first time in 2004 as a one-day event, but already in 2005 it was extended to three days. The festival has been organized in three different locations in Tampere. After the 2013 edition, Sauna Open Air went bankrupt. After Sauna Open Air, a new South Park rock festival was established in Tampere. In 2019, the festival made a comeback after a six-year hiatus and went back on hiatus after 2022.
