European Music Office (EMO) ceases all its operations

Following an Extraordinary General Assembly held in Brussels on November 4th, the members of the European Music Office (EMO) have decided to stop the Organisation.

Given the unfavorable economic circumstances  and the structural difficulties recently faced by the organisation, the contingences related to the existing financial structure of the network have become unsustainable.

The Brussels-based EMO Secretariat will therefore cease its operation with immediate effect.

EMO would like to thank all of its past and present partners, and most particularly the European Commission, for a very fruitful collaboration over the last 17 years.

A discussion will now be held between the former EMO members on the structuration of a different format of European cooperation, with a renewed collective vision and with the objective of placing music at the heart of the European agenda.

This process will focus on seeking new ways to defend the interests of European music professionals, to champion the mobility of European music artists around the world, and to encourage the cross-border circulation of Europe’s rich music repertoire.
