Future vision for Finnish songwriters and publishers announced
During fall 2017 Music Finland, together with Finnish songwriters and publishers held a workshop which aimed to come up with new ideas on how to grow the export of Finnish pop songwriting and to increase the co-operation of the industry.
The results were released today at Slush Music. Based on the workshop, a future vision and strategy were created for songwriters and publishers. According to the vision, Finland will be a hub for music export by the year 2021, Finnish music will be at the cutting edge and constantly evolving. In addition Finnish songwriters and the Finnish music industry will belong to key international networks. Read more about the results here.
According to a September 2017 survey, the song exports are growing briskly. In 2016, a record 71 songs by Finnish composers and lyricists were released overseas. These tracks were created by 41 songwriters, with 22 of them scoring their international debuts. Read more about the survey here.
