Jaakko Eino Kalevi and Ville Haimala collaborate with David Byrne on American Utopia

Pivotal art pop icon David Byrne returns with his latest album, American Utopia, this week. During the two years of making American Utopia – which is his first solo album in 14 years – Byrne worked with a handful of collaborators, including Jaakko Eino Kalevi and Ville Haimala.

JEK provided keys for ”Every Day is a Miracle” and guitar, bass and synth for ”Gasoline and Dirty Sheets”, while Haimala worked on bass and drum production for two songs. Both were invited to collaborate on the songs by Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Sampha, King Krule) who served as one of the producers on American Utopia, alongside David Byrne and Brian Eno.

American Utopia will be released March 9, 2018, via Todomundo / Nonesuch Records, accompanied by a world tour that will bring a choreographed concert that Byrne has called "the most ambitious show I've done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense."
