Joalin to perform at The Great Escape 2024
Joalin has been added to the list of artists performing at The Great Escape 2024. The showcase festival will be held in Brighton, UK between May 15 and 18, with Joalin performing on Friday May 17th.
The upcoming singer, songwriter, dancer and social media influencer Joalin (Joalin Loukamaa) released her debut solo single "Angelito" in 2022 and signed an international record contract with Because London Records last year. So far, Joalin has released two singles under her new label: "La Chica-ca" and "Bikini" (videos embedded below).
On TGE's website, Joalin's music is described as "an intoxicating blend of pop, R&B and reggaeton-inflected beats, she effortlessly glides from ethereal falsettos to puckish rap-speak, from English to Spanish". She first became known as a member of the popular Now United pop group that was formed by the Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller. Joalin was born in Finland but has lived most of her life in Spain and Mexico – a fact that which may describe the nordic melancholy as well as the latin flavorings in her music.
TGE is not the only big promotional effort for Joalin this year: Last week she performed at Spot Festival in Aarhus, Denmark. Earlier in April she gained even bigger visibility, when she appeared at Coachella during dj Tiffany Tyson's set (watch on TikTok).
Joalin's performance will happen at 7:15 PM on Friday May 17th at the UTA showcase night in Players Battle Bar Brighton.
