Mirel Wagner’s new album released for positive reviews, prepares European tour

Mirel Wagner’s second album which is her debut for Sub Pop, When the Cellar Children See the Light of the Day, has been released to critical praise.

MOJO Magazine gave the album 5/5 and named it the album of the week, commenting ” This album is more clinging than quicksand, it is uncompromising, transcendent voodoo.” Other positive reviews came from The Line of Best Fit (8/10 ”many ways an astounding album”), UNcut Magazine (8/10), The 405 (8/10) and Pitchfork (7.4./10).

Last February we conducted an interview with Wagner and her manager Aki Roukala, who discussed working in Hailuoto and Sasu Ripatti’s role on the record. Read it here
