She also writes articles for magazines such as FMQ and Rondo. Riikka Hiltunen has worked for many years in production and communication in the music field, as a freelance journalist and FMQ's editor. Hiltunen is currently working on a doctoral dissertation in musicology, in which she explores the creative work and future thinking of Finnish pop music professionals. During 2015 Hiltunen has also compiled a study of Finnish pop songwriting exports, as well as assisted in other research projects at Music Finland.
