Lotta Wennäkoski and Magnus Lindberg picked out for Prix de Composition Musicale

Finnish composers Lotta Wennäkoski and Magnus Lindberg have been nominated for the Prix de Composition Musicale prize which boasts a prize sum of 75,000 euros.

Composers Lotta Wennäkoski and Magnus Lindberg are nominated for this year's selection at Prix de Composition Musicale. The works nominated are “Prosoidia” (Wennäkoski) and "Serenades" (Lindberg).

The other composers among this year's seven nominees are Aureliano Cattaneo (Italy), Akira Nishimura (Japan), Bent Sørensen (Denmark), Melinda Wagner (USA) and Vito Zuraj (Slovenia).

Prix de Composition Musicale is awarded every three years. Other recent Finnish nominees for the award have been Outi Tarkiainen for her works The Ring of Fire and Love in 2022, Kaija Saariaho for Innocence in 2022 and Jukka Tiensuu for Ihmepari in 2023.

The prize is awarded by the Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco. Past Finnish winners of The Prince Pierre Foundation awards have been Kaija Saariaho (2012) and Jukka Tiensuu (2019). The winner will be announced later in the autumn.
