Joalin nominated at Music Moves Europe Awards

Joalin is one of the fifteen nominees at the 2025 Music Moves Europe Awards, the European Union Prize for popular and contemporary music. The Music Moves Europe Awards will be given out at ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) in Groningen on 16th January 2025.

Joalin Loukamaa was born in Turku, Finland but lived in Mexico from the age of 10. She emerged in the music scene as a solo artist in 2022 with singles like "Angelito" and "Así Así". In 2023, she was signed to Because London Records, and has released three singles this year on the label. Joalin's music has been described as a cross between her Nordic and Latin influences: melancholic electro-pop melodies meeting Latin rhythms, and combining lyrics sung in English and Spanish. She was also a member of the band Now United until March 2023.

The other nominees this year are Boko Yout (SE), Daniela Pes (IT), Hillari (NO), Judeline (ES), Kingfishr (IE), Loverman (BE), Maella (CZ), Mina Okabe (DK), Naomi Sharon (NL), Night Tapes (EE), UCHE YARA (AT), Woomb (BG), Yamê (FR) and Zimmer90 (DE).
