Composer and musician Jimi Tenor needs no introduction: after 30 years of career as an established artist, Tenor has redefined his style and sound over and over again and moved from 60s and 70s jazz, psychedelic soul and African funk to techno and experimental rock. Tenor continues to release music in different formats and through different labels at a formidable pace. 2019 Tenor released an ep with another Finnish electronic music mainstay, Freestyle Man (a.k.a. Klas Lindblad or Sasse) on the famed Swedish label Studio Barnhus.

His soundtrack for indie video game Minit was featured on Fact Magazine's list of 10 Best Video Game Soundtracks of 2018.

Producer Rony Rex has years of experience as a club DJ, playing both local and international venues, as well as hosting his own radio shows. In 2017 Rony Rex started releasing his own energetic and dancefloor-ready tunes on the Youth Control label. His releases include Fucked It Up EP (2017) along with several singles.

Best known for his career as bass player in Finnish pop bands PMMP and My First Band, Juho Vehmanen combines alternative pop with electronic production as Helsinski.


Following three EPs, electronic music producer Lapsihymy released his debut LP Dreams Take Over Everything via Royal Mint. Lapsihymy creates summery songs that mix woozy synth walls with skittering beats and vocal snippets.


Detalji is a Helsinki-based artist, producer and sound designer known for her self-written anthems dedicated to the club culture as well as cravings for substances and intimacy. Strongly influenced by 90’s techno music and IDM, Detalji builds her songs in a progressive manner combining pop hooks with raw synths. Detalji released her danceable debut EP SEX in March 2018.

The Gentleman Losers

The Gentleman Losers' mix of ambient aesthetics, americana and post-rock has won them many admirers over the years. Their self-titled debut album was named Boomkat’s album of the year in 2006, and since then they’ve remixed Bibio and found famous a fan in Nils Frahm, who included them on his Late Night Tales compilation. The Gentleman Losers’ fourth album "Make We Here Our Camp Of Winter" is released on Sound In Silence label in 2019.

Tähtiportti (tr. stargate) is a veritable who’s who of the Finnish leftfield music scene: Albert Witchfinder (Reverend Bizarre, Opium Warlords, Spiritus Mortis) provides vocals, while Vilunki 3000 (Op:l Bastards, Larry & The Lefthanded), Stiletti-Ana (Jesse), and late Randy Barracuda (Perttu Häkkinen, known from i.e. Imatran Voima) handle the instrumentation. Over a downbeat, almost frozen techno music backdrop, a Finnish male voice recounts stories of abysses, of an abyss within the abysses. Primitive techno and the darkly ancient flow of poetry are the fuel that Tähtiportti runs on.

Formed in Siilinjärvi in 1995, synth trio Aavikko's sixth album Monopoly (2019) is "pure 'Disco Muysic', functional music – mere synthetic assemblage of electronic sounds, that’s meant to be used". According to the band – consisting of legendary drummer Tomi Leppänen (Circle, K-X-P etc) along with keyboardists Paul Staufenbiel and Tomi Kosonen – their actual command is very simple: "we play, you dance".

Jori Hulkkonen

Finnish electronic music mainstay Jori Hulkkonen started his career in the early 1990's, releasing his debut album Selkäsaari Tracks on F Communications label in 1996. Hulkkonen has released ten albums and fourty singles under his given name, worked in 15 groups and produced music under dozens of different aliases and played hundreds of dj slots. The latest album from Jori Hulkkonen is 2018's "Simple Music for Complicated People".

Mr Velcro Fastener

Finnish electro duo Mr Velcro Fastener (Tatu Peltonen and Tatu Metsätähti, also known as Mesak) was founded in Turku already in the early 1990s. They initiated their own studio in 1997, the same year their project was named Mr Velcro Fastener. Between 1998 and 2008 Mr Velcro Fastener released four albums and numerous ep's, before going to a hiatus. In 2018 the duo returned with a new ep Ignorance on Electrix record label.

Kasperg is the alias of Kasper Granroth, a 25-year-old Finnish producer, musician and DJ currently based in Berlin. He describes his music as "dreamy but rhythmic" and "incorporating elements of hip-hop and blends of RnB". Kasperg is also known from wide-ranging DJ and live sets and his own label Lost Favourite Records.

Composer Tapani Rinne's main musical outlet RinneRadio was started in 1988. RinneRadio's adventurous fusion of electronic beats and progressive jazz with occasional hints of drum'n'bass, hip hop, dub and lush ambient soundscapes meshing with Rinne's timeless soprano sax textures has endured during the band's 15 album career. In 2018 RinneRadio returned with the single "Zarkukselle", a tribute to Rinne's friend and legendary drummer Zarkus Poussa, who died in 2016.

Amnesia Scanner is a Berlin-based Finnish duo, who released their debut ep ”AS” on Young Turks label in the spring of 2016, with critical acclaim from Pitchfork, Allmusic, Resident Advisor and many others. In 2016 the mysterious band put out their self-released album ”AS Live” and in 2017 the mixtape ”AS Truth”.

Following a successful time in the mid-2000s with his duo Mashtronic, which was one of the leaders of the electro-club scene, Henri Hurtig began to create music under the Cid Inc. moniker. Since then he’s become one of the most sought-after talents in the progressive house scene, with releases on Anjunadeep, Lost & Found, microCastle, Natura Sonoris and Sudbeat.

Samuli Kemppi is a Helsinki-based producer, dj, radio host, promoter, label owner and a record pusher. With over 30 releases, numerous remixes and gigs from Buenos Aires to Shanghai, Samuli is one of the best known techno exports from Finland. Kemppi’s musical style draws from the deeper frequencies of deep house and techno and is known for his incendiary performances that are hard to beat.
